Last weekend’s games were challenging for State baseball. The Yellow Jackets lost back-to-back games against Saginaw Valley and Illinois-Springfield on Friday.
Saginaw Valley brought the heat early in the game. It led with eight runs to State’s three until the seventh inning, when State packed in five runs to tie the game.
Saginaw Valley recovered and scored five more runs during the eighth and ninth innings. State lost the game, 13-8.
Illinois-Springfield had strong on-field energy. State fell 11-3.
On Saturday, the Jackets lost 10-7 to Illinois-Springfield.
State’s next game is at Slippery Rock on February 29th. The next home game is on March 14th at 1 PM.
