Top Seed West Liberty Ousts State From Tournament 133-106

State was ousted by top seed West Liberty, 133-106, in the Mountain East Conference Tournament Friday. Pat Johnson-Agwu had 34 points, including a monster slam dunk in the second half, and eight rebounds.

Robert Fomby scored 24 points and 11 rebounds and was 3-4 from the three point line. Langston Cooke added 21. Dan Monteroso led West Liberty with 40 points.

West Liberty is 26-2 on the year. State ended its men’s basketball season 13-16.

The Yellow Jackets trailed by 10 points at the half, 55-45, before both teams exploded offensively in the second half, WVSU scoring 61 points to the Hilltoppers 78 and both teams shooting more than 50 percent.
