Men’s Baseball Beats Bluefield State, 9-3

In its first home game of the 2020 season, the State men’s baseball team beat Bluefield State College 9-3 Wednesday at Shawnee Sports Complex.

The Yellowjackets scored six runs in the third inning to build their lead.

State’s Andrew Stone drove in two runs with a pair of hits, and Christopher Jordan had three hits and one RBI. Pitcher Dane Peterson picked up the win for State, now 1-3 on the season.

The Yellowjackets are scheduled to return to the diamond at noon Friday, Feb. 21, at Shawnee Sports Complex. They are scheduled to play Illinois-Springfield at 2:30 p.m. Friday and again at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Both games are set for Shawnee.
