The Yellow Jacket Women’s Tennis Team picked up the first team win of the 2018-2019 season, winning against Johnson C. Smith University of Charlotte, N.C., 7-0.
State got things rolling early with a clean sweep of doubles with Laura Isbey and Kierstin Hensley winning 6-0 at #1 doubles, Kayla McKnight and Sydney Miller winning 6-2, and Hannah Kruglova and Chante Malo winning 6-2 to earn the doubles point for the day.
Reigning two-time Mountain East Player of the Year Laura Isbey won 6-1,6-2 at #1 singles, Hensley won 6-0,6-0 at #2, McKnight won 6-0,7-5 at #3 singles, Malo won 6-0,6-4 at #4 singles, Kruglova won 6-0,6-0 at #5, and NikaTadic closed out the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the #6 position.

State next plays Oct. 10 at Davis and Elkins.
