Another strong second half, and a balanced offensive gameplan, propelled the Yellow Jacket’s mens basketball team to a road win at Urbana.
After holding a slim 38-35 halftime lead, State poured in 59 second half points to pull away from Urbana.
Six players scored in double figures, led by Pat Johnson-Agwu and Gus Stone with 17 points each. Ernest Jenkins Jr. scored 15 points, while Glen Abram and Kovien Dominus each netted 12 points, and Frank Agyemang scored 11 points.
Agyemang also led State with six rebounds, while Agyemang and Jenkins Jr. each dished out four assists.
Jordan Bradley led Urbana with 21 points, and Ethan Snapp scored 15 points for the homesteading Blue Knights. Malik Jacobs pulled down 10 rebounds for Urbana, and Bradley handed out eight assists.
State moves to 11-9 on the season, with a Mountain East record of 8-6 and now sits in sixth place in the MEC standings. Urbana falls to 5-13 overall with an MEC record of 3-11.
State returns to the court when they travel to Glenville State on February 7th.
