Senior Shae Hines erupted for 28 points and four assists to State past archrival University of Charleston, 66-64 Saturday. Jasmine Davis added 10 points, while Alexandra Jackson pulled down nine rebounds.
Abby Watson led UC with 20 points.
The win moved WVSU to 13-15 overall, with an MEC record of 13-9, and in sole possession of third place in the MEC standings. UC now sits at 12-16 overall with an MEC record of 8-14.
