ELKINS, W.Va. – The Yellow Jacket Women’s Tennis Team picked up their second win of the season, 7-0 at Davis and Elkins.
The Yellow Jackets swept the doubles play to score the doubles point, with Laura Isbey and Kierstin Hensley winning 6-1at #1 doubles, Kayla McKnight and Hanna Kruhlova winning 6-0 at #2 doubles, and Chante Malo and Sydney Miller closing out doubles play with a 6-2 win.
Reigning two-time MEC Player of the Year Laura Isbey cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at #1 singles, while Hensley, McKnight, and Kruhlova won at #2, #3, and #4 singles by the same score. Malo edged out a 6-4, 6-4 win at #5 singles, and Nika Tadic closed out the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6 singles.
“Everyone played really good,” said Kruhlova. “We all had pretty good matches, and we all stayed concentrated and didn’t give up very many games.”
The Yellow Jackets next play Saturday, when they travel to Cal. Pa.
