Student Government Candidates Call for Better Communications

Candidates for the Student Government Association elections Monday and Tuesday have common interest  — a need for improved communication between university administration and the student body, as well as greater student involvement on campus.

The student forum for candidates Thursday in Keith Hall gave the few students in attendance their first look at the Brandon Martinez/Miranda Dixon and Rachel Harper/Cal Colangelo presidential tickets, Board of Governors Representative candidate Baigen Seawell, Mr. State candidates Cedrick Farmer and Chrisdeion Alston, and Ms. State candidate Angelica Willis.

Farmer said if elected he’ll use his position to celebrate diversity on campus. Willis said she will use her position to amplify student voices, particularly those of minority students.

Candidates outnumbered students in attendance by more than 2 to 1. Students present had fair questions and comments.
