Kids Count Honors President Jenkins with Education Champion Award

Kids Count on Tuesday presented West Virginia State University President Dr. Anthony L. Jenkins its Education Champion of Children Award.

Jenkins received the honor before 200 people at Edgewood Country Club in Charleston.

In its 30th year, West Virginia Kids Count is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that champions the needs of kids and families in West Virginia. It gathers and publishes data that show the health and educational condition of West Virginia children.

Jenkins was one of four community leaders recognized with the Champion of Children awards.
