Former Football Player Charged With Murder

Keene

BAR HARBOR, Maine – Former WVSU football player Jalique Keene has been charged with murder in his home state of Maine in relation to the death of 19-year-old Mikaela Conley.

Keene attended WVSU in the 2015-2016 school year as a running back. He was redshirted and did not play.

Keene had recently returned to Maine after playing semi-professional football in Serbia.

Keene and Conley attended high school together at Mount Desert Island High School in Maine.

Keene has a prior criminal history. In 2012 he was sentenced on felony burglary charges and had to serve a year of probation. In 2016 Keene was charged with a misdemeanor after furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol. For that offense he served two days in jail.

Police have not yet released the circumstances surrounding Conley’s death. Keene made at least one appearance in court and is currently being held in jail without bond.
