Concord, Winning Record Ahead for Jackets

After getting to an even .500 record, the Yellow Jacket Football team hosts struggling Concord with an opportunity to have a winning record on the season.

​State is 3-3 overall, with an MEC record of 2-3. The Mountain Lions travel to Institute  with a record of 1-5, and are  on a five game losing streak.

​Newly minted starting quarterback Faustino Saucedo has been exceptional as Austin Hensley’s replacement. Hensley was lost for the season due to a broken foot.

Saucedo leads the Yellow Jackets with a 3-2 record as the starting quarterback, with 1,173 passing yards on 86 completions, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions.

​Calil Wilkins is third in the Mountain East with 643 rushing yards, and six touchdowns on 107 carries. Dylan Lucas also has 344 yards on 59 carries, and a touchdown. 

​Wide Receiver Tyrell Henderson is fourth in the MEC with 546 receiving yards, on 34 receptions, and five touchdowns. AJ Barrette also has 23 receptions for 376 yards, and two touchdowns, while Zach Pate has 28 receptions, for 345 yards, and a touchdown.

​Joe Stoneman is the top tackler on the defensive side for the Yellow Jackets, with 61 total tackles and 3.5 sacks. Moises Valcarcel has 55 tackles.
